Hydro-Design was founded in 1985 by Egil Ranvig. Together with his friend Tom Martens Meyer, he developed the enterprise from producing affordable waterski boats to increasingly sophisticated racing boats. These boats won countless Offshore races, including European and World championship races and they also set world speed records.
Taking all his experience from offshore racing Egil Ranvig set upon the quest to make some of the most beautiful and fastest daycruisers in the world. And that’s how it all started for Cormate.
Through our experience constructing offshore racing boats we have developed a building technique that delivers an optimal ratio between construction cost, weight and strength.
Cormate has 30 years experience of building boats that had to withstand a combination of rough seas conditions and high speeds.
We perform a full Cormate service, upgrades and maintenance program. And we can also show one of the largest and most modern winter storage facility in Norway.
